Scenario

You are asked to prepare material to assist with the finished published articles a newspaper are going to produce on the use of IT in organisations.

1A Managing Information P1
Identify ways in which organisations use IT to manage information. Give examples from a range of at least 4 departments and list the data managed and the applications involved.

1B Communication with IT P2
Describe how organisations use IT for communication - both internally with staff, with customers and the public generally.

1C Why organisations use IT P3
For at least four of the departments or procedures you have mentioned in 1A or 1B describe reasons why organisations use IT, including both external and internal factors, highlighting particular benefits that it may bring to their activity

1D Suggestions for improvement M1 D1
State possible changes to the way in which IT is used by an organisation. For each of these changes at least one potential benefit and at least one possible disadvantage should be identified
